The museum is has been around for about 40 years. It contains lots of collections of biographies, it has a full history of post and the history of the post-box. The museum is a registered charity and relies a lot of donations and volunteers. The things on display include quills and ink, stamp boxes, post boxes, model mail coaches and letters and postcards.
The museum is almost entirely accessible to wheelchair users and those with impaired mobility. They have a stair lift and most of the museum is on one level. Anyone who is deaf and hard of hearing they have
T-loop fitted to our sound-led interactives and the History of Writing video has subtitles. What is nice is that the information is presented in a variety of ways and staff are pleased to offer any support required.
If a disable person is supported by a carer, personal assistant or support worker; they are admitted free.
