Christmas Jumper Trail

01 Dec – 6 Jan 

Take part in our magical Christmas Jumper Trail this holiday celebrating the book Granny Magic by author  ElkaEvalds. We invite younger children to find the little jumpers hidden around the museum and older children who find them will answer questions relating to the festive season. Once complete, children claim their prize at the end.

Cost: £1.50 per child, includes a prize


Granny Magic

Family Event with children’s author Elka Evalds

Sat 7 December, 10.30-11.30am

Granny magic is a new children’s story written by Elka Evalds. Elka will be reading from her book and children will then create a magical pom-pom keyring to take home. Opportunities to purchase signed copies of the book, in time for Christmas, will be available at the end.

Coppelia Royal Opera House Live Ballet

Tues 10 December, 7.15pm


A classic returns to The Royal Ballet repertory with Ninette de Valois’ charming and funny Coppélia – a story of love, mischief and mechanical dolls. The intricate choreography is set to Delibes’ delightful score and shows off the technical precision and comedic timing of the whole Company. Osbert Lancaster’s designs bring a colourful storybook world to life in this Christmas treat for the whole family.

The Nutcracker Royal Opera House Live Ballet

Tues 17 December, 7.15pm

The Nutcracker, created by Peter Wright in 1984, is the production par excellence of an all-time ballet favourite. It is Christmas Eve and Herr Drosselmeyer sweeps young Clara away on a fantasy adventure in which time is suspended. The living-room becomes a battlefield as they take a magical journey through the Land of Snow to the Kingdom of Sweets. Tchaikovsky’s glittering score, gorgeous festive stage designs, and The Royal Ballet’s captivating dancing make this Nutcracker the quintessential Christmas experience.

Stories with Santa

Seasonal Storytelling

Mon 23 December, 10-11am and 12.30-1.30pm

Santa is visiting the Corinium Museum to tell a short story from the North Pole in a magical setting. Stories last no more than 30 minutes followed by Santa presenting the children with a seasonal gift at the end. A truly magical occasion for families or playgroups with young children.

Cost: £5 per child (includes a gift), £3 per adult

Mosaic Snowflakes

Children’s Workshop with Rebecca Shellenberger

Tues 31 December, 10.30-12pm

Join us for a morning of mosaic making. During this morning workshop and inspired by the season, you will create a mosaic snowflake to take home using colourful, safe glass tiles. All materials and instruction provided.

Cost: £8.25 per child, £7.25 members
