Haynes Motor Museum

Haynes Motor Museum is a world famous car museum in Somerset, which houses hundreds of classic cars and motorbikes.  It’s very popular with vehicle enthusiasts, families and tourists a like. For us we found it a great place to visit on a rainy day, and it was also very accommodating for a variety of aged children. It is fully accessible and has wide walk areas, lifts and accessible walkways throughout, so very good if you have mobility issues or use a wheelchair.

Pone thing I will say is if you or your child likes to touch displays this is pretty much a no go here.  The volunteers were lovely, but it was clear they were stalking us (we did have five kids between us!)

It has an enclosed play area outside including a mini soft play which is fully enclosed (however no heater so cold in the winter).
There is lots of space and if your kids like space and also cars galore! However they aren’t allowed to sit in them or touch so might be an issue. We were permanently followed around by a volunteer (think they might have expected a few touches!). They did explain how an engine worked and answered lots of questions, and also had a great dressing up section which the kids loved!

The cafe were very accommodating and even made cheese on toast for Jimmy! Also, your daily admission is transferred into an annual membership, so if you live nearby it’s definitely worth it.
