Steam Museum

We have been to the Steam Museum many times as we are family members and have been for the last few years. We love to go on a rainy day as everything is indoors. The museum has lots of visual displays, video clips and interactive tasks. The museum follows a one way route which is perfect. There is a lot of space so even when busy it never feels that way. There is a huge steam train in the middle of the museum which you can walk underneath which my kids love (even this can’t be damaged!). There is an activity within the signal box and the chance to experience driving a train. At the end of the museum there is a great model train set enclosed where the children can control the trains. There is a shop but you do not have to enter it to leave the museum. Overall, a good hour or so and a place you could visit time and time again.

Parking:

There is FREE car parking available at the front of the Museum for STEAM visitors who display a valid Blue Badge. Please note, STEAM cannot accept liability for vehicles parked in front of the Museum.
